CUDDLY COW — Rilah Mae Clark, near 2-year-old daughter of Kaleigh and Blake Clark of Dyer, was all smiles Tuesday evening while petting a micro-mini Highland cow named Elle Mae from Dyer-based KC Highlands outside the Kenton Gym as part of the community’s 40th annual White Squirrel Festival “Family Night Out” event. The public had an opportunity to feed the cute cattle or have photos made. The night’s activities were moved from the park to the gym due to wet conditions from Monday’s rain. Kenton’s festival runs through Friday, with the Fourth of July events to include a 5K run at 8 a.m., a downtown parade at 11 a.m., sidewalk chalk art contest, cornhole and a fireworks display at 9.
