Hazel Williams
Clarice Hazel McDaniel Williams, age 93, of Union City passed away Monday, May 12, 2025, at The Etheridge House in Union City.
She was born on Jan. 20, 1932, in the Crystal community to Gilbert and Mary McDaniel. Hazel McDaniel Williams graduated as valedictorian from Woodland Mills High School in 1950. She married the late Harold Loyd Williams and together they co-founded Williams Sausage Company in 1958, which grew to become one of the largest sausage manufacturers in the United States.
Hazel was a devoted and active member of Antioch Methodist Church, where she served as the leader of the cemetery association for many years. She also held the position of president of the Woodland Mills PTA throughout the 1960s. A proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, she enjoyed ballroom dancing, genealogy, the Gameshow Network, celebrity gossip magazines, and was an avid traveler, having visited every continent except Antarctica.
She is survived by her son, Roger (Juli) Williams; daughter-in-law, Beth Williams; sister, Carolyn Gore; brother, Ralph (Brenda) McDaniel; sisters-in-law, Flossie McDaniel and Judy Williams; five grandchildren, Lesley Anderson, Emily Billingsley (Clay), Bret Williams (Katie), Mary Alex Barnes (Jeremy) and Ellie Williams; 10 great-grandchildren; and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Loyd Williams; two sons, David Williams and Richard Williams; two brothers, Dale McDaniel and Charles McDaniel; and brother-in-law, Darrell Gore.
Funeral service will be at noon Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with Bro. Terry English officiating. Burial will follow in Antioch Union Church Cemetery. Visitation will begin Wednesday at 9 a.m. and run until the time of service at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Barnes, Clay Billingsley, Brad Gore, Bret Gore, Dale McDaniel, Mark McDaniel, Phillip McDaniel and Bret Williams.
