GOD BLESS AMERICA — Ron Gray (left), pastor of First Church of God on Miles Avenue in Union City, and Obion County Mayor Steve Carr, who formerly pastored in the area for many years, led a crowd of about 40 in singing “God Bless America” to close out a local National Day of Prayer event at noon Thursday in Merchants Park in downtown Union City. They were joined in taking the lead in singing by Marshall Key (not pictured), associational missions strategist for Beulah Baptist Association, who also shared scripture and a brief devotion during the program. Several local pastors participated by leading prayer focused on specific needs in churches, the community and the nation. The event was sponsored by the Obion County Ministerial Alliance.
