Joan Griffin
Mrs. Phyllis “Joan” (Pride) Griffin, 75, of Samburg died April 7, 2025, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Services will be 1 p.m. April 11, 2025, at Samburg Assembly of God Church, with Bro. George Hutchison and Bro. Archie Larry officiating. Burial will follow in Antioch Cemetery near Hornbeak.
White-Ranson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be at the church on Thursday, April 10, 2025, beginning at 5 p.m. and on Friday starting at 11 a.m.
Pallbearers will be Kyle Homra, Rob Hammond, Alan Bingham, Jordan Davis, Brent Griffin and Jerry Hampton.
Honorary pallbearers will be Matt Riedinger, Larry Davis, Randy Dyer, Jimmy Rose, Thomas Aker and Harold Riddle.
Mrs. Griffin was born on June 12, 1949, in Dyer County to the late A.J. Pride and the late Verda Lucille (Reed) Gooch. She married Robert Griffin on Feb 26, 1966. She was a member of Samburg Assembly Church of God, where she was involved in any activity the church would have. She lived to serve her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and her family, and was a great softball player.
The family requests memorials to be sent to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Robert Griffin of Samburg; daughter, Deanna Homrich and husband, Chris, of Neptune Beach, Fla.; son, Thomas “Lee” Griffin and wife, Erin, of Samburg; daughter, Chenelle Adams and husband, Shane, of Ripley; seven grandchildren, Lauren Homrich, Anna Homrich, Kaycee Griffin, Landon Griffin, McKinlee Griffin, Ali Adams and Khloe Adams; five great-grandchildren; three brothers, Wayne Edward Pride, Kevin Gooch and Michael Gooch; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Horace Ray Pride.
