Joy Forrester
Joy (Houser) Forrester, 89, of Troy passed away Friday, March 21, 2025, at her home.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church near Rives. Brother Truitt Cockrell will officiate. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the church from 11 a.m. until the hour of services Tuesday.
Pallbearers will be Tony Daniel, Randy Worrell, Tim Walker, Don Bailey, Doug Brewer and Andrew Worrell.
Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Joy was born July 18, 1935, in Troy, daughter of the late Harold and Mary (Roberts) Houser. She married Bobby Forrester Sept. 30, 1953. Joy was a military wife and homemaker who was an avid University of Tennessee Volunteers fan. She enjoyed bowling, collecting hummingbirds and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Joy was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Bobby Forrester of Troy; one daughter, Melissa Glass (Johnny) of Drummonds; two sons, Pat Forrester (Christina) of Hermitage and Steve Forrester (Marsha) of McEwen; seven grandchildren, Katy Glass of Memphis, John Glass and Jeremy Glass, both of Drummonds, Jason Forrester of Alaska, Jeremy Forrester of Ashland City, Heather Ramirez of El Paso, Texas, and Hunter Forrester of McEwen; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Donna Caldwell of Reelfoot Lake; and one brother, Bobby Hauser of Troy.
She was also preceded in death by one sister, Harolyn Driver.
