CRASH INJURES 1 — A driver sustained injury at midday Thursday when her vehicle was struck by a freight train at a crossing on Ed Moffatt Road, southwest of Rives in rural Obion County. Amanda McLemore, 38, of Kentucky was traveling west on Ed Moffatt Road just after noon when her 2018 GMC Sierra pickup truck was struck by a Canadian National Railway train, according to a preliminary report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol’s Jackson District. She was listed as being injured, but no details were provided about the extent. The report did not give any information about the train engineer. The THP said Ms. McLemore was charged with failure to yield the right of way and a due care violation. The Rives Volunteer Fire Department was on the scene to assist.
