Stover Cunningham

Alpha “Stover” Cunningham Jr. born on Feb. 2, 1932, in Minnick to the late Alpha Sr. and Suedell Stover Cunningham passed away at his residence Monday, Feb. 24, 2025.
He was a member of Bethlehem Methodist Church in Pilot Oak, Ky. He was a retired Tool and Dye maker for A.B Dick in Chicago, Ill., and also had worked for the former Stanley Jones Contractors in South Fulton. Stover was an avid fisherman and loved to bowl. He enjoyed playing guitar for Sunday services.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Gattis Cunningham; one daughter, Laurie (John) Dacus of Dukedom; one son, Alpha (Steve) Cunningham III (Jackie) of Paducah, Ky; nine grandchildren, Lt. Col. Joe (Jenn) Dacus of Germany, Matt (Andrea) Dacus of Paducah, Ben (Heather) Bryant of Union City, Thomas Bryant of Union City, Adam (Cheri) Cunningham of Paducah, Amanda (Stan) Clark of Springboro, Ohio, Lucas (Brook) Cunningham of Indianapolis, Ind., Micah (Carrie) Cunningham of Paducah and Petty Officer 1st Class Caleb (Chelsea) Cunningham of Detroit, Mich.; 27 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Carolyn Wells of Olive Branch, Miss., and Ann (Mike) Cherry of Dukedom.
In addition to his parents, Stover was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia Ann Cunningham; one daughter, Susie Brooker; four brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services for Stover Cunningham will be held at Jackson Funeral Home in Dukedom, Saturday, March 1, 2025, at 2 p.m., with John Dacus and Rev. Debbie Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday from 11 a.m. until the hour of service.
Jackson Funeral Home in Dukedom is in charge of arrangements.
