Linda Kimble

Linda Ella Farr Kimble, 82, passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2025. She died peacefully in her sleep.
She was preceded in death by her oldest son, Paul Edward Kimble Jr.; her husband, Paul Edward Kimble Sr.; her parents, William Farr and Louise Bishop Farr of Houston, Miss; two sisters, Patricia Farr Smith of Houston, Miss., and Joan Farr O’Barr of Biloxi, Miss. They adored each other and remained close throughout their lives.
She is survived by her two children, Terri Kimble of Memphis and Tony Kimble of Mason Hall; one grandchild, Kristin Kimble Adams and her husband, Shane Adams; two great-grandsons, Deacon Adams and Grant Adams of Troy; one brother, William Farr II and his wife, Ramona Farr, whom she considered to be her sister, and their two children, Jamey Farr and Elisha Farr, all of Houston.
She was born in Houston, Miss., on Dec. 5, 1942. Her birth kept her father from being drafted during WWII. In 1959 she married Paul Kimble, also from Houston. They left Houston and relocated to Biloxi, Miss., in 1962 where her husband was employed by Ingalls’ Shipyard. They remained there until moving to Mason Hall when Goodyear Tire and Rubber opened their Union City plant where her husband was employed and remained until his retirement.
Ms. Kimble was an active member of her community where she was loved by all whom she knew. She had many close friends whom she remained close to until she died, her best friend being Margaret Gurien of Troy. Ms. Kimble was a Girl Scout Leader, room mother in all her children’s school, Sunday school teacher, active member of First Baptist Church of Kenton and later New Salem Baptist Church of Mason Hall. She had a strong faith in God her entire life. She will be forever missed by all who knew her. Her family is comforted by her faith and the way she lived her life and the love she brought to and showed family and friends.
The family held a memorial service on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2025, at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church in Houston, Miss.
