Verna O’Steen
Verna Raye O’Steen, 86, of Union City passed away Saturday, Jan. 18, 2025, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2025, in East View Cemetery, with Bro. Eddie Mallonee officiating.
Friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.
Mrs. O’Steen was born in Caruthersville, Mo., on July 15, 1938, to the late R.B. Hopkins and the late Katherine Caksackkar Hopkins. She was married to Mr. Kerry Hunter O’Steen on Sept. 21, 1960. He survives. She was a homemaker.
In addition to her husband of 64 years, Kerry, Mrs. O’Steen is survived by her daughter, Cindy Evans of Union City; son, Michael O’Steen of Hornbeak; six grandchildren, Lacy (Nate) Tallman of Murfreesboro, Sarah Evans of Murfreesboro, Clint (Katie) Evans of Smyrna, Rachel O’Steen of Austin, Texas, Kari O’Steen of Atoka and Deacon O’Steen of Hornbeak; and two great-grandchildren, Garrison and Jeremiah Tallman of Murfreesboro.
Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by one son, Mark O’Steen.
