Mary Suiter

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Boulton Suiter, 87, passed away at NHC Milan on Monday, Jan. 6, 2025. A Celebration of Life visitation will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, at Murphy Funeral Home in Martin, followed by a funeral service in the chapel at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Cate Cemetery Weakley County. Mrs. Suiter’s parents are the late Roe Jarrard and Bertha May Boulton. She is a 1955 graduate of Milan High School and in 1960 she received a bachelors degree from Union University in Jackson. Mrs. Suiter was employed by the Weakley County Health Department, owned a gift shop in downtown Martin, contracted four houses, was the bookkeeper for Suiter Service and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Martin. Elizabeth enjoyed arts and crafts that included painting, interior design, doll making, crochet and quilting. Several of her handcrafts won awards at the Mid-South Fair including a Best of Show quilt that was displayed at Disneyland in California. She and Hollis enjoyed their travels together during their 54-year marriage. She leaves a daughter, Susan Lynn Suiter of Greenfield; two sisters, Margaret Ann Boulton of Milan and Martha Lou Shelton (Mike) of Germantown; and she will be missed by in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Hollis Wayne Suiter; a son, Stanley Frank Suiter; a brother, Robert Frank Boulton; and a sister, Virginia Nell Kiecker.
