Danny Summers
Danny Lee Summers Sr., 75, of Rives passed away 10 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, 2024, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27, 2024, in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Pastor Robin Rotgers will officiate. Burial will follow in Stanley’s Chapel Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the hour of services Friday, Dec. 27, 2024.
Danny was born Sept. 21, 1949, in Weakley County, son of the late Gilbert and Willie Lee (Tabor) Summers.
He had been employed as manager of the former Vickers Service Station and had been a school bus driver for Obion County School System for nine years. Danny served in the United States Army and was of the Assembly of God faith.
He is survived by two sons, Danny Summers Jr. and wife, Angela, and Bobby Summers and wife, Samantha, all of Rives; five grandchildren, Autumn Summers, Deanna Summers, Madison Summers Tarver and husband, James, Brittany Rollins and husband, Josh, and Michael Summers; nine great-grandchildren; and his former wife, Judy Coleman of Newbern.
He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Richard Summers, Junior Burress and W.P. Burress; and one great-grandson, Able Tarver.
