Thomas Morton

Thomas Edward Morton, 87, of Union City passed away 7:58 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, 2024, at his home.

Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2024, at First United Pentecostal Church in Union City. Brother Paul Hensley and Pastor Paul Ray Cagle will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2024, and at First United Pentecostal Church from 11 a.m. until the hour of services Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2024.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Littles, Jacob Littles, Keagan Bruce, Ian Ferguson, Evan Ferguson and Tristan Marlar.
Thomas was born June 11, 1937, in Lake County, son of the late Rudy Noble and Mary Ray (Hedge) Morton. He married Peggy “Boots” (Mask) Morton July 31, 1960. She preceded him in death Jan. 14, 2015. Thomas was a retired industrial maintenance mechanic for Tyson Foods and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of First United Pentecostal Church in Union City.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Linda and James Bruce of Union City; his son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Tamara Morton of Union City; 21 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by three sons, Jerry Dale Morton, Thomas Dewayne Morton and Christopher Edward Morton; five sisters; and five brothers.
