‘FEEDING’ & FEASTING — Ryan Gray and his mother, Wanda Gray, tended to cookers of green beans at midday Nov. 26 in preparation for the evening’s Thanksgiving Soul Food Café, which capped off the day’s community Feeding of the 5,000 at the Obion County Fairgrounds in Union City, where the Refuge Mission meets. Mrs. Gray’s husband, Ron, is pastor of First Church of God in Union City. Some 1,700 bags of groceries and winter coats were given away to those in need during Feeding of the 5,000, followed by the free evening meal for anyone who would enjoy the food and fellowship. The events were coordinated by the Obion County Ministerial Association, with help from numerous local churches, organizations, businesses, schools and individuals.
