PROTECTING & ‘SERVING’ — Union City Assistant Police Chief Josh Lovell greeted a drive-through customer at midday Thursday at McDonald’s during the Union City restaurant’s hosting of a Burger Bash to benefit the Shop With a Cop program, which provides clothing and toys to local less fortunate children at Christmas. A number of patrol officers, investigators and administrative staff from the Union City Police Department were on hand to serve customers during the three-hour period. A portion of proceeds as well as donations from the sale of fresh cookies benefited Shop With a Cop, which will be held Dec. 7.
