Wilbur McWherter Jr.

Mr. Wilbur “Mac” McWherter Jr., 73, a resident of Woodland Mills, died Nov. 14, 2024, at the Tennessee State Veterans Home.
Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2024, at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with Dr. Katy Kempton officiating. Burial will follow in East View Cemetery.
Visitation is at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the service time on Tuesday.
Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
He was born June 1, 1951, in Martin to the late Flossie Odell (McWherter) Knox. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam and Korea Wars. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post #4862 and the American Legion. Mac was a Jack of all Trades, was a music lover and enjoyed his time outdoors.
He is survived by his son, Andre Burns and Dr. Katy Kempton of Martin; two granddaughters, Dreunya Burns of Plano, Texas, and Ainsley Burns of Martin; a great-granddaughter, Seven LeGrant of Plano; and a brother, Jacquet McWherter of Union City.
He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Danny, Gerald and Charles McWherter.
