Jerry Davis
Jerry Wayne Davis, 76, of Union City passed away 7:02 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 31, 2024, at Baptist Health Paducah (Ky.).
Funeral services were conducted 11 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Cody Pritchard and Chris Gooch officiated. Burial followed in New Haven Cemetery near Ridgely.
Visitation was held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Sunday and from 10 a.m. until the hour of services Monday.
Pallbearers were Craig Dugger, Zack Ellington, Pete Matheny, Tommy Black, Justin Lynn and Ben Sturdivant.
Jerry was born March 13, 1948, in Union City, son of the late Leonard “Chuck” Davis and the late Imogene (Hopper) Davis. He married Ruth (Hobbs) Davis Feb. 15, 1969.
Jerry retired from the maintenance department at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City after 30 years of service. He served in the Tennessee National Guard. He enjoyed spending time with his family, mowing his yard on his John Deere tractor, flying model planes, racing go karts, NASCAR racing and the Tennessee Volunteers. Jerry was a founding member and a lifetime member of the Obion County Rescue Squad and was a member of Fairview Baptist Church near Obion.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Ruth Davis of Union City; his son, Monty Davis and wife, Crystal, of Union City; two grandchildren, Olivia King and husband, Bryce, of Obion and Dylan Davis and his fiancée, Cassidy Taylor, of Union City; his brother, Ted Davis and wife, Jeanette, of Obion; his sister-in-law, Cindy Davis of Union City; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by one brother, Jeff Davis.
