Henry Callison

Brother Henry Callison, 84, of Union City went home to be with the Lord 10:46 a.m. Monday, Oct. 28, 2024, at his home. He was a former longtime resident of the Brownsville community.
Funeral services were to be conducted 11 a.m. today (Oct. 30) at West Hickman Baptist Church. Brother Jason Sipes was to officiate. Burial was to follow in Hickman City Cemetery.
Visitation was held at West Hickman Baptist Church from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until the hour of services today.
Pallbearers were to be Chris Wright, Peyton Wright, Charles Choate, Brent Baird, Mac McCullough and Kevin Miller.
Honorary pallbearers were to be Tommy McCollum, Alton Ray McCollum, Marion Wayne McCollum Jr., Danny Glen Thompson Jr., Dale Willis, Tim Langford and Rick Major.
Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Henry was born June 28, 1940, in Fulton County, Ky., son of the late Henry Buell and Willie Belle (Wiley) Callison. He married Shirley Ann (McCollum) Callison March 16, 1959. Henry had been employed at Cigre Carbon in Hickman for 21 years and retired from maintenance at the Fulton County Courthouse. He had served as Fulton County Coroner and was a Fulton County Magistrate. Brother Henry had served as pastor of Walnut Log Baptist Church, Reelfoot Baptist Church and True Faith Baptist Church. He was a member of West Hickman Baptist Church, where he had served as a Sunday school teacher.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Shirley Callison of Union City; his sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Roy Miller of Hickman, Ky.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his son, Doug Callison; his daughter, Faith Callison; two sisters, Mary Louise Callison and Mildred Kennedy; and one brother, Harold Callison.
