Sandra McElhiney

Mrs. Sandra Wade McElhiney, age 74, of Martin passed away Sunday, October 6, 2024, at Jackson Madison County Hospital. Funeral services were private. Pallbearers were Doug Sims, Joel Ayers, Raines Ayers, Randy Frazier, Larry Kelly, Ron Ayers and Cameron Powers. Sandra was co-owner of McElhiney Men’s Shop in McKenzie before retirement. She adored spending time with her grandchildren and loved attending all their sporting events. She was an avid gardener loving all kinds of flowers and spending time in her yard. She graduated from Martin High School and was a member of First Baptist Church in Sharon. Mrs. McElhiney was preceded in death by her husband, Danny McElhiney; her parents, Roy Wade and Thurla “Teet” Bizwell Wade. She is survived by her two daughters, Kellie (Doug) Sims of Martin and Ashley (Joel) Ayers of Jackson, TN; three sisters, Virginia (Larry) Kelly and Carol Pinkleton both of Martin, Betsy (Tom) Plunkett of BonAqua, TN; five grandchildren, Jacey Sims, McCall Sims, Haylan Ayers, Raines Ayers and Jentri Ayers; one great-granddaughter, Ruby Lou Powers.
