SUPER SATURDAY

SUPER SATURDAY — Two-year-old Ezequiel Nicholson of Hickman, Ky., reached up to touch superhero Spider-Man as they visited Saturday morning during the Banana Festival’s Kids Day, which was moved indoors to the Willingham Center in Fulton due to rain. The event, which also incorporated activities for special needs kids, helped kick off the festival’s eight-day run in the Twin Cities. Tonight is Faith and Family Night, with events to include the Tyson Foods free community meal at 5 p.m. at Pontotoc Park, a chalk art contest from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Unity Park in South Fulton, a kiddie parade at 6 p.m. and a concert by the Bethel University Renaissance Bluegrass Band at 7 p.m. at Unity Park. A daily schedule is posted on “The Banana Festival” Facebook page.
