Sylvia Phillips

Sylvia Frances Phillips, 81, of Martin, died on Thursday, Aug. 29, 2024, at her residence. Cremation services are under the direction of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home and a Celebration of Life will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 28 at First Baptist Church in Martin. Born Sunday, May 23, 1943 in Midland, Texas, she was the daughter of the late William Archie Adair and the late Evelyn Gertrude Holland Thomas. Mrs. Phillips was a retired customer service representative for Sprint and a member of the First Baptist Church in Martin. She leaves to cherish her memory, one son Keith (Jamee) Pounds of Summerville, South Carolina; three daughters, Lisa (Tim) Hoskins of Dresden, Debbie )Thomas) Dial of Tiptonville and Mindy Pounds of Martin; one brother, Mark Thomas of Texas; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and three great great-grandchildren; special friends, Jane Lawrence and Felisha Moorer; and her beloved cat, Kate. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one grandson.
