Shirley Porter

Service for Mrs. Shirley Stout Porter will be held Tuesday August 27, 2024 at 2 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Greenfield, TN. Burial to follow in Hornbeak Cemetery in Greenfield. Visitation will begin Tuesday morning at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home and go until time of her service at 2 pm.

Shirley is survived by one son Mr. Joe Porter of Greenfield, one daughter Mrs. Jamie (Mark) Prince of Martin, TN. Five grandchildren, Candice (Ty) Finney of Dresden, Brock (Lanae) Porter of Greenfield, Andrew (Candace) Porter of Greenfield, Kasey (Dusty) Sharp of Knoxville, and Clay (Breanna) Prince of Martin. She also leaves behind 11 great grandchildren, Porter Finney, Ross Finney, Westin Porter, Ella Porter, Jude Porter, Cruze Porter, Andi Porter, Kennedi Jo Porter, Cameron Sharp, Callie Sharp and Heidi Prince. She is also survived by two sisters, Charlotte Reynolds of Crossville, TN, and Jo Ellen Stout of Union City. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, Mr. James Porter, her parents Mr. Wiley Thomas Stout and Mrs. Aline Lipscomb Stout and three sisters, Geraldine Patrick, Mary Akin and Virginia Yates. Mrs. Shirley was a lifelong resident of Greenfield, a homemaker and a long time faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church. She was active in teaching GA’s for many years and a major prayer warrior. The family ask that in lieu of flowers all donations be made to Bethel Baptist Church, Gideon International or Hornbeak Cemetery.
