Susie Wright, 81, of Union City passed away 6:30 a.m. Monday, July 29, 2024, at her home.
Celebration of life services will be conducted 5 p.m. today (July 31) in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Eddie Mallonee will officiate. Burial will follow in East View Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 3 p.m. until the hour of services today.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Morris, Steve Morris, Bobby Ransom, Don Wright, David Flood and David Johnson.
Honorary pallbearers will be David Severns, Billy Campbell, Junior James, Mike James and Johnny Tate.
Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to Community Bible Church, 1413 South Home St., Union City, TN 38261.
Susie was born July 22, 1943, in Currie, Tenn., daughter of the late B.T. and Virgie Mae (Preslar) James. She married Billy Joe Wright on Nov. 17, 1961. He preceded her in death Nov. 24, 2005.
Susie and Billy Joe were the owners and operators of the former Sports Base and Susie’s Uniforms in downtown Union City. She was a member of Community Bible Church in Union City. Susie loved to play the piano and enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived by two daughters, Renee Morris and husband, Steve, of Milan and Debra Severns and husband, David, of Union City; and grandchildren, Whitney Morris and Ryan and Summer Morris, all of Milan.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred Fay James and Ruth Hamilton; and four brothers, Grant James, Tom James, Harold Wayne James and Ed James.
