Betty Maggard

Mrs. Betty Joyce Maggard, 82, of Union City passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. In Union City with Bro. Terry Griffin officiating. Burial followed in Stanley’s Chapel Cemetery. Family served as pallbearers. Betty was born July 11, 1941, in Obion County, daughter of the late Nolie and Pauline (Nash) Burress. She married Thomas Maggard on March 11, 1960. He survives. She was an avid golfer at many courses around the area. She is also survived by one sister, Juanita Stone of Union City; two brothers, Finis Burress (Judy) of Union City and Nolie Burress of Martin; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Zoe. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Leoda Kemp.
