Larry Dexter

Mr. Larry Duane Dexter, age 85, of South Fulton passed away Thursday, May 9, 2024, at the Obion County Nursing Home near Union City.
He was born on May 7, 1939, in Fenton, Mich., to the late Cornell Dexter and Jeanette Cook Dexter.
Mr. Dexter belonged to Sandy Branch Primitive Baptist Church and was a mechanic for John Deere in Union City and Martin and Allied Equipment. He had served in the Army Reserves.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Nell (Ingram) Dexter, whom he married on Oct. 6, 1991; a son, Shane Dexter of Keller, Texas; two stepdaughters, Rhonda (Greg) Roach and Regina McKnight, both of South Fulton; one grandchild, Ian Dexter of Nolenville; three stepgrandchildren, Cory (Allyson) Williams of South Fulton, Nick (Emily) Wright of West Chester, Pa., and Kristen Roach of Union City; two great-grandchildren, Lennon Hill of Norfolk, Va., and Annie Williams of South Fulton; and two sisters, Connie (Harry) Thomas of Lansing, Mich., and Janie Fisher of Holland, Mich.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, Bradley Dexter; one brother, Har-old Dexter; one sister, Laura Diane Jackson; and a daughter-in-law, Traci Dexter.
Honorary pallbearers included Cory Williams, Kristen Roach and Ian Dexter.
Pallbearers were Jason Jackson, Kelly Davidson, Larry Kimbel, Kenney Etherton, Zach Etherton and Dale Frazier.
Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Monday, May 13, 2024, at Hornbeak Funeral Chapel, with Elder Josh Hazlewood and Elder Danny Ferrel officiating. Burial followed in Sandy Branch Cemetery. Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. Sunday in the funeral chapel.
