Ron Powers

Ron “Boom Boom” Powers, 72 of Martin, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2024 at his home. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 27 at the Martin Church of Christ. The family will receive friends at the church from 10 a.m. until service time at 2 p.m. Ron was born in Algonquin, Illinois on Sept. 24, 1951, to the late Bernice and Wilma Hawkins Powers. He was a member of the Martin Church of Christ, and a retired arson investigator with the State of Tennessee. He is survived by his wife, Janet Cheatham Powers of Martin; sons, David (Jan Trowhill) Powers, Kevin (Mandy) Powers, Jesse Powers; stepson, James Henry; stepdaughters, Julie Arnold and Jennifer Henry; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ed Powers.
