Dorris Forrester

Dorris Jean Forrester, 94, of Union City passed away 5:40 a.m. Monday, April 1, 2024, at Weakley County Nursing Home in Dresden.
Memorial visitation was held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. today (Wednesday). Burial followed in Obion County Memorial Gardens.
Dorris was born July 15, 1929, on Todd Street in Union City, daughter of the late Walter James and Susie Elizabeth (McConnell) Forrester. After graduating from Union City High School, Dorris went to work for McElroy 5 and 10 cent store and then the Merry Lee Shop, both in Union City.
In 1952, Dorris began her career with Southern Bell Telephone Company, which then became South Central Bell Telephone Company until 1975. She transferred to Madisonville, Ky., for a brief time. Dorris moved to Paducah, Ky., with the telephone company and remained there until retiring Aug. 20, 1983, with 311к2 years of service. Dorris was the last surviving charter member of Second Baptist Church in Union City.
Dorris is survived by many loved nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her brother, Leon L. Forrester; and her sister, Betty Ruth (Forrester) Stogsdill.
