Arthur Fuqua

Arthur Glendale Fuqua, 85, of Jackson, died Friday, March 15, 2024, at the Christian Care Center in Medina. Funeral service was held at 1 p.m. Monday at Murphy Funeral Home in Martin with Roy Weaver and Rev. Franklin Gardner officiating. Burial followed at the East Side Cemetery in Martin. Family served as pallbearers. Mr. Fuqua was of the Baptist faith, and served at several churches in the area as a deacon. He was retired from the U.S.D.A. Soil Conservation, he was at the Milan UT Station, and he worked at Lowe’s as a Lawn and Garden Sales Rep. He was a member of the Tennessee National Guard. He is survived by his wife, Amelia Frields Fuqua of Jackson; three sons, Gregory Dale (Sylicia) Fuqua of Jackson, Michael Allen (Teresa) Fuqua of Rutherford and Brian Chad Fuqua of Jackson; five grandchildren, Cody Fuqua, Curt Fuqua, Catie Jackson, Anna Paige Hunt and Taylor Beth Bolton; four great-grandchildren, Beau Fuqua, Hattie Wren Hunt, Walker Jackson and Leary Rose Fuqua; and a sister, Elfrieda Brown of Milledgeville, Georgia. Mr. Fuqua was preceded in death by his daughter, Amy Alissa Fuqua; and his parents, Buford S. and Hallie Gaynell Hester Fuqua. Online tributes may be left at murphyfuneralhome.net.
