Jerry Rauchle

Jerry Lynn Rauchle (Rice-Lee), age 69, of Union City passed away Thursday, Feb. 15, 2024, in South Fulton.
A celebration of life was held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2024, at Community Bible Church, with Bro. Eddie Mallonee officiating. The family received friends beginning at 11 a.m. Tuesday until the time of service at the church. Burial followed in Obion County Memorial Gardens.
Serving as honorary pallbearers were Billy Joe Petty, Mark Ward, Bill Flippen, Grant Rauchle, Bill Davis, Barry Burcham, Al Creswell, Steve Sedberry, Kenneth Kemp and former teammates of Mr. Jerry.
White-Ranson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Jerry was born in Humboldt on Feb. 8, 1955, to the late Gene Rauchle and the late Rebecca Coleman Rauchle. He was a 1973 graduate of Union City High School. Upon graduation, he attended Jackson State Community College on a baseball scholarship. After one year he was signed by the Kansas City Royals and also played in the Montreal Expo’s organization in the Rookie and AA Level. He was a USPS Postmaster for 35 years in the Nashville area, Mississippi area and retired in the Memphis area.
Mr. Jerry loved baseball and enjoyed fishing and playing golf. He was also a TSSAA basketball official for many years.
He is survived by his son, Kevin Rauchle and his wife, Qing, of Nashville; his brother, Mike Rauchle and his wife, Phyllis, of Union City; his companion, Ann Cooley of South Fulton; two nephews, Grant Rauchle of Lakeland, Tenn., and Bill Davis (Gina) of Jacksonville, Fla.; two great-nephews, Easton and Jaxon Davis; and two great-nieces, Jade Hammer and Lydia Rauchle.
