Bettye Barton
Mrs. Bettye Carolyn Barton, age 90, of Union City passed away on Feb. 19, 2024.
A Celebration of Life service for Mrs. Barton was to be held today (Feb. 21, 2024) at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Karnes and Son Funeral Home in Rutherford.
Visitation was to begin at 1 p.m. and go until service time.
Mrs. Bettye Carolyn Bar-ton was born March 20, 1933, in Crockett County to the late Doyle and Jessie (Blackburn) White.
Mrs. Barton was a retired supervisor for Kellwood Manufacturing Company in Rutherford after serving 37 years of employment. She was a member of Rutherford Church of Christ until she moved to Union City and then became a member of Bishop Street Church of Christ. Mrs. Barton and her husband, Terry Joe, enjoyed traveling on their motorcycle and enjoyed time with family and friends.
Mrs. Bettye Carolyn Barton is survived by her daughter-in-law, Ruth Bar-ton; two nieces, Darlene Horton and Jana Ray; two grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Barton was preceded in death by her husband, Terry Joe Barton; son, Ron Barton; her parents, Doyle and Jessie White; and her sister, Emily Woods.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be made in honor of Mrs. Bettye to Rutherford Church of Christ.
