Charles Wade

Charles Perry Wade Sr., 86, of Union City died on Saturday, Jan. 27, 2024, at AHC of Union City in Union City.
Born Friday, Aug. 6, 1937, in Hickman County, Ky., he was the son of the late Perry Howard Wade and the late Cornelia Ruth Townsend Wade. Mr. Wade proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and was a former truck driver for Tosh Trucking.
Funeral services for Mr. Wade were to be held at 1 p.m. today (Jan. 31) at Cayce Baptist Church, located in the Cayce (Ky.) community at 41 Holly Circle, Fulton. Officiating the service were Dr. Bill Oakley and Bro. Mark Dowdy. Interment was to follow at Harmony Cemetery in Clinton, Ky.
Visitation for Mr. Wade was held from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2024, at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home in Newbern and today from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the church.
He is survived by one son, Charles Perry Wade Jr. (Cindy) of Dyersburg; two daughters, Robbie Lynn Robertson (Mickey) of Trimble and Charlotte Ann Bolton (Charlie) of Cayce, Ky.; one brother, James Wade of Clinton; three sisters, Margaret Kelly of Clinton, Joyce Conley (Ray) of Paducah, Ky., and Anita Brann of Clinton; and he was “Pawpaw” to his seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Damon Violet Ballow Wade; one brother, Otis Ford Wade; and one sister, Mary Sue Freeman.
Honoring Mr. Wade as pallbearers were to be Robert Lynch, Lane Fowlkes, Cole Robertson, Wesley Upchurch, Victor Bolton, Adam Atkins and Richie Fowlkes. Honorary pallbearers were to be Liam Lynch, Xavier Robertson, Callen Montgomery and Spencer Burns.
