CHICKEN DISTRIBUTED
CHICKEN DISTRIBUTED — The husband and wife duo of Gary and Cara Moore of Union City, who are members of Refuge Church and its Celebrate Recovery program, stacked packages of chicken to be given away Monday afternoon by the church at the Obion County Fairgrounds. More than 500 cars wrapped around the fairgrounds along South Sunswept Drive and East Church Street before snaking their way through the fairgrounds. Refuge minister Dan Huggins said Tyson Foods in Humboldt donated over 2,300 packages of chicken tenderloins, breasts and drumsticks and each car received a value of around $25 worth of chicken, with some packages being larger than others. He said while the giveaway was to start at 3:30 p.m., cars started to line up at 1 p.m. and by 2:45 had already stretched as far south as The Waters on South Sunswept Drive. In order to try to clear the street, they started moving people through the line around 2:45.
