Billy Brooks
Mr. Billy Wayne Brooks, age 92, of South Fulton passed away on Jan. 22, 2024, at Cane Creek Rehabilitation Center in Martin.
He was born on June 25, 1931, in Obion County to the late Luther and Laura Belle Collins Brooks.
He was a member of McConnell Baptist Church and was a farmer.
Mr. Brooks is survived by his daughters, Patsy Shelby of Lynnville, Ky., and Nancy Gatewood of Martin; five grandchildren, Larry Dale Shelby and Lori Ann Frazier, both of Lynnville, Todd Gatewood of Fairview, Missy Coleman of Martin and Courtney Mosley of Dresden; 10 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; nephews, Keith Brooks of South Fulton and Allan Ray Terrell of Union City; and niece, Kim Little of Kenton.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Brooks was preceded in death by his wife, Estelle Brooks; three brothers, Charles Brooks, Glen Brooks and Morton Brooks; and a sister, Helen Terrell.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, Jan. 25, at 1 p.m. at Hornbeak Funeral Chapel, with burial to follow in Eastside Cemetery in Martin. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. today (Jan. 24)
