CLASS ACT — Six educators in the Obion County School System were recognized as systemwide award winners at Monday night’s Obion County School Board meeting at the board office in Union City. The honorees were (from left) Black Oak teacher Candace Thweatt, preK-4 Teacher of the Year; Hillcrest teacher Ryan McMackin, 5-8 Teacher of the Year; Obion County Central High School teacher Hamilton Hudson, 9-12 Teacher of the Year; Ridgemont principal Dana Craddock, Principal of the Year; South Fulton Elementary assistant principal Shawn Johnson, Assistant Principal of the Year; and George Leake, district secondary instruction supervisor, career and technical education director, alternative education director and 504 coordinator, Supervisor of the Year. They were congratulated by OC Director of Schools Tim Watkins (second from right) and board chairman Fritz Fussell.
