A GRINCH CHRISTMAS — Tinley Farmer was a little apprehensive at first to meet the Grinch (Dan Huggins) and Cindy Lou Who (Julie Huggins) at the Obion County Community Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony at the courthouse Thursday, but she overcame her fear and threw off her jacket to show the Grinch her special sweatshirt with a pink-colored likeness of his face. The Huggins took part in the ceremony as this year’s Pride of Obion County recipients, the first couple to be honored with the award. Following the tree lighting, which included entertainment by the Obion County Children’s Chorus and Voices of UCES and ornament winners placing their entries on the tree, the Union City Christmas parade rolled along First Street. Both events were sponsored by Main Street Union City.
