SEASONAL SHOPPERS — Union City Police Department patrol officer Blake Lively helped a young shopper with her selections as they participated in the successful third annual Shop With a Cop event Saturday morning at Walmart Supercenter in Union City. He was among the law enforcement officers from several city, county and state agencies, as well as firefighters from the Union City Fire Department, who took 145 children Christmas shopping for clothing and toys while also giving them a positive experience and building relationships. The kids in need were chosen from Obion County and Union City elementary schools, while funding for the effort was donated by the community in recent months. Each child had $200 tax-free to spend. Shop With a Cop raised nearly $30,000 this year, and contributions are accepted year-round at the UCPD. The program will also benefit from monetary donations from this Friday’s Blue Lights & Banks from 7:30 a.m.-noon at the courthouse and from Pack the Patrol Car the next two Saturdays outside Walmart and E.W. James & Sons.
