CHIMES TIME — Union City J’Cettes member Rachael McKinney helped check out a young shopper’s choice of new clothing during Chimes for Charity’s annual children’s shopping tour Sunday afternoon at Walmart Supercenter in Union City. This year, 300 pre-kindergarten through eighth-grade students from schools across Obion County and Union City, as well as 100 local Head Start children, were chosen to shop. In a change from the past, no community volunteers were utilized at Sunday’s event and children shopped with a parent or a volunteer provided by the parent. Chimes is in its 89th year of providing food, clothing and toys to less fortunate families around the county at Christmas. This year’s fundraising goal is $40,000.
