TOP LAMB — Katy Frazier (front) moved a step up from the 2022 Junior Market Livestock Sale, improving from Reserve Champion to Grand Champion this year at the Obion County Fair. The lamb, which weighed 131.92 pounds, was bought for $20.50 per pound or $2,704.36 by Cole & Short Crop Insurance, Commercial Bank, Crabtree Farms, Obion Farmers Co-Op and CAP-Ridgely. Representing the buyers were (back, from left) Donnie Walton of Commercial Bank, Johnny Rimmer of Obion Farmers Co-Op, Lucas Wilds of Cole & Short Crop Insurance and Jason Crabtree of Crabtree Farms. The auction brought in a grand total of $204,456.53 for 77 animals, which is only the second time in the Obion County Junior Livestock Show and Sale’s 71-year history for the amount to break the $200,000 total, with 2022 holding the record.
