RAINY RESCUE
RAINY RESCUE — With rain still falling, Union City Police Department patrol officer Brady Moore carried two children to safety Friday morning as he helped evacuate residents along South Second, Third and Fourth streets in a flooded area between West Jackson Street and West Reelfoot Avenue. Two days of torrential rains led to serious flash flooding about 5 a.m. Friday, leading to rescues and evacuations at neighborhoods and businesses along West Reelfoot from First Street to Everett Boulevard, including Green Acres Mobile Home Park. Police were joined in the recovery efforts by the Union City Fire Department, Obion County Sheriff’s Office, Obion County Rescue Squad, Tennessee Highway Patrol and many volunteers, with help also coming in the form of donations from local businesses.
