FIRE DAMAGES HOME
FIRE DAMAGES HOME — Troy firefighter Jesse Calhoun (left) and Hornbeak firefighter Daniel Cleek worked to help put out a fire March 29 at a two-story house at 701 Wolverine Road inside the Troy city limits. The Troy Fire Department was dispatched around 10:40 p.m. to the residential structure fire. Heavy smoke was coming from the home when firefighters arrived about 10:47 p.m. Troy Fire Chief Brandon Baldwin said an initial search was performed for any possible trapped victims. By 11 p.m., fire could be seen throughout the roof area and firefighters were told to leave the interior of the structure. A defensive attack was made to knock down the fire. No one was inside the home at the time. The cause of the blaze is unknown. Baldwin said the homeowner arrived at 1 a.m., about 15 minutes before the scene was cleared, and was assisted by the American Red Cross. Troy firefighters were assisted by the Obion and Hornbeak fire departments via automatic aid.
