Sammy Powell

Sammy Powell, 76, of Troy died Jan. 6, 2023, at home.
Memorial services will be held Thursday, Jan. 19, at 2 p.m. at Greater Vision Church of God in Troy, with the Rev. Robin Rotgers officiating.
Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the hour of service at the church.
Powell was cremated.
He was born. Jan. 23, 1946, to the late Robert and Mary Powell in Henry County. He married Kay Powell on Oct. 20, 1978. She survives. He retired from Sara Lee 20 years ago.
He is also survived by two sons, Timmy Powell of Troy and Danny Powell of Dyersburg; a brother, John Powell of Nashville; a sister, Dean Wyatt of Millington; 17 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by two sons, Tony Powell and Sammy James Powell; a daughter, Wanda Powell; three brothers; and one sister.
