DorEtta Caldwell

DorEtta Caldwell passed away at the age of 65 on Monday, Jan. 9, 2023 and will be deeply missed. There will be no viewing or formal service. DorEtta spent most of her youth in California, where she earned a degree in Occupational Therapy. She then established the occupational therapy program in the Oakland Public School District. After her husband’s graduation, they moved to Martin, where she continued to work as an Occupational Therapist in public schools. She was actively involved in her church and home schooled all five of her children. Devout in her faith and steadfast in her prayers, DorEtta had the heart of a true Christian and was a loving woman of God. She accepted everyone into her home and loved people unconditionally. She enjoyed spending time with her family and found joy in taking care of and encouraging those around her. DorEtta was a cheerful soul who saw the bright side in every dark sky. She especially enjoyed drinking coffee outside and spending time with God’s creatures. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Chris Caldwell; five children; and six grandchildren.
