Durell Royster

Mrs. Durell Jacobs Royster, age 89, of Martin died Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2023, at Weakley County Nursing and Rehab Center in Dresden.
Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 9, 2023, at 1 p.m. at Murphy Funeral Home, with Bro. Lynn Walker and Bro. Keith Sumner officiating. Visitation was held Monday beginning at 11 a.m. at the funeral home until the service time. Burial followed in East Side Cemetery.
Mrs. Royster was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Royster; her parents, Jodie Jacobs and Myrtle Keathley Jacobs; three sisters, Modean Collier, Joy Stephens and Monette Turner; and three brothers, J.B. Jacobs, Floyd Jacobs and Billie Wayne Jacobs.
She was a retired secretary for the University of Tennessee at Martin. She was a faithful member of Bible Union Baptist Church in Martin.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Pam (Tommie) Lemons of Martin and Tammy (Les) Wright of Memphis; her sister, Sarah Hazlewood of Martin; her nephew, Mike Royster of Martin; four grandchildren, Will Lemons, Bart Lemons, Jared Wright and Joshua Wright; and four great-grandchildren, Kaleb Worrell, Brady Lemons, Price Lemons and Greyson Lemons.
