PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT COMMODITY FOOD TO BE DISTRIBUTED
The Northwest Tennessee Economic Development Council, in cooperation with the United States Department of Agriculture, will be distributing commodity foods.
Distribution for the recipients of Hornbeak and Samburg will be on January 10th @ the City Hall in Hornbeak , 9am – 12pm . Distribution for the recipients of Troy and Obion will be on January 11th at @ the Community Center in Obion from 9am -12 pm. Distribution for Union City, South Fulton and Kenton recipients will be on January 12th, from 9am – 12 pm @ the Obion County Fairgrounds in Union City, Tn.
YOU MUST BRING YOUR OWN BOX OR CONTAINER as we don’t pre pack.
You must have your Purple Card. If you have not yet re-certified, you may do so on the day of distribution or call the office. Please bring proper proof of income for everyone in your household.
Please be aware that due to a shortage of inventory of some food that we have on hand, you may not receive the same number of items as someone else in the event a good item runs out.

Eligibility is based on total household income not in excess of the state established maximum percentage of the poverty line for the appropriate household size. Also, anyone receiving aid from one of the following programs is eligible for receiving aid from one of the following programs is eligible for USDA commodities : Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Formerly known as Food Stamps), Families First, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program, or documented residence in public housing.
