Michael Long

Michael Keith Long, 62, of Newbern died on Sunday, Dec. 11, 2022, at his residence.
Graveside services for Mr. Long will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday at New Haven Cemetery in Ridgely. Officiating the service will be Pastor Dwayne Uzzle. Visitation was held Monday from 5-7 p.m. at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.
Born Wednesday, Dec. 23, 1959, in Union City, he was the son of the late Harris Benford Long and the late Nellie B. Sanders Long.
Mr. Long is survived by one son, Christopher Wayne Hedgepath (Tiffany) of Dyersburg; one daughter, Ashley Johnson (Josh) of Newbern; three brothers, Harris Long (Dorothy) of Union City, Terry Long (Sue) of Hickman, Ky., and James Long (Jackie) of Union City; six grandchildren, Baylee Hedgepath, Makayla Campbell, Taylor Hedgepath, Joleigh Johnson, Kay Lynn Johnson and Lizzie Hedgepath; and a host of nieces and nephews, who loved him dearly.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Debra Hedgepath Long; and one brother, Bobby Long.
