Gerald Hicks

Gerald Glenn Hicks, 80, a lifelong resident of Fish Gap Hill, passed away 10 p.m. Monday, Nov. 28, 2022, at his home.
Graveside services were to be conducted today at 3:30 p.m. at Mt. Manuel Cemetery. Billy Craddock was to officiate.
There was no visitation and friends were asked to meet at the cemetery for the time of services.
Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Gerald was born April 15, 1942, at Fish Gap Hill, son of the late A.C. “Clifford” and Birdie (McKinnis) Hicks. He married Charlotte (Gill) Hicks March 1, 1969. She survives. Gerald had been employed as a self-employed carpenter and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
He is also survived by two sons, Thomas Hicks of Troy and G.G. Hicks of Union City; three granddaughters, Madison Hicks of Martin and Jenna Hicks and Emrie Hicks, both of Union City; one sister, Patsy Barber of Henderson; two brothers, Larry Hicks (Harriet) of Union City and Gary Hicks (Kathy) of the Mt. Pelia community; his sister-in-law, Ruby Hicks of Union City; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by one brother, Howell “Sambo” Hicks.
