Judy King

Judith Lynn “Judy” (Pewitt) King, 81, of Union City passed away 9:13 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2022, at her home.
Graveside services were conducted noon on Saturday at Terrace Hill Cemetery near Troy. David Kendall officiated
Pallbearers were family members.
Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Judy was born Nov. 9, 1941, in Bowling Green, Ky., daughter of the late Raymond Edward Pewitt Jr. and the late Merye Kathryn (Brantley) Perry. She married Alonzo King Nov. 26, 1959, at Rives Church of Christ. They would have celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary on Nov. 26. They moved to Michigan in 1968 and retired and moved to Union City in 1998. Judy had been employed at Sears in St. Clair Shores, Mich., and Hudson’s Department Store and Reliance Insurance, both in Troy, Mich. She was a member of Rives Church of Christ. Judy was a great cook and seamstress and enjoyed shopping and family gatherings. Christmas was her favorite holiday of the year. She was a wonderful mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her husband, Alonzo King of Union City; three children and their spouses, Marilynn and Ted Goodwin of Appleton, Wis., Lon and Deana King of Chesterfield, Mich., and Belinda and John Belasco of Lapeer, Mich.; one sister, Kathryn “Snookie” Capps of Union City; one stepbrother, Jimmy Perry of Paris; five grandchildren, Tabitha Mooney, Jessica Belasco, Emily Meulemans, John “Perry” Belasco and Mason Goodwin; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her halfsister, Merye Elaine Perry; and her grandparents, Bill and Roma Brantley and Raymond Edward Pewitt Sr. and Lura (Milner) Pewitt.
