Anita Strain
Anita Faye Strain, 78, a resident of Obion, died Aug. 10, 2022, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Friday at White-Mahon Funeral Home. Dr. Eric Walsh officiated. Burial followed in Terrace Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Bruce Strain, Devin Strain, Bran-don Strain, Derek Boaz, Danny Tate, Nathan Hill and Josh Tate.
The family received friends from 5-8 p.m. on Aug. 11 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Strain was born on Aug. 11, 1943, in Hornbeak to the late Alton and Louise (Carroll) Scurlock. She worked as a seamstress for the former Wrangler Jeans in Troy. On Sept. 28, 1963, she married Jerry Strain. He passed away Jan. 18, 2006.
She is survived by two sons, Billy (Diane) Strain of Troy and Scott (Lisa) Strain of Gordonsville; a daughter-in-law, Tammy Long; three grandsons, Bruce (Katie) Strain of Kenton, Devin (Amber) Strain of South Fulton and Brandon (Kayla White) Strain of Dresden; five granddaughters, Amanda (Nathan) Hill of Shelbyville, Barbie (Danny Tate) Walley of Troy, Misty (Derek) Boaz of Sharon, Autumn Long of Union City and Katie and Kasie Strain of Nashville; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gene (Shirley) Scurlock of Samburg and Jackie (Sharon) Scurlock of Troy; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her son, Bobby Strain; a brother, Nicky Scurlock; two sisters, Wanda Baker and Joyce Ferrell; and a great-granddaughter, Brynlynn Strain.
