Jamie Parish

James L. “Jamie” Parish, 83, of the Shawtown community passed away 1:30 a.m. Thursday, July 28, 2022, at his home.
Funeral services were conducted 1 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Jessie Cavness officiated. Burial was in Cobbs Chapel Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Mark Williams, Nick Gilliam, Austin Parish, Darryl Darnell, Steve Darnell and Keith Kendall.
Jamie was born May 4, 1939, in Obion County, son of the late Onie McKinley and Sallie (Quinn) Parish. He married Marzelle (Long) Parish Nov. 29, 1958. She survives. Jamie was the owner and operator of the former Parish Garage, was a member of Woodmen of The World Lodge 196 in Hornbeak and was a member of Star of Bethlehem Assembly of God.
He is also survived by one daughter, Shari Tidwell of Dyersburg; one son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Nancy Parish of Paducah, Ky.; two sisters and their husbands, Clora and Bill Stone and Myrtle and James Darnell, all of Memphis; two brothers, Lynn Parish of the Shawtown community and R.C. and Pat Parish of Troy; three granddaughters, Claire Atkinson and her husband, Kyle, of Arlington, Bailey Tidwell of Nashville and Jamie Curran and her husband, Dustin, of Halls; and four great-grandchildren, Lyla Atkinson and Maggie Atkinson, both of Arlington, and Jacob Gaba and Carson Curran, both of Halls.
He was also preceded in death by one sister, Shirley Lynch.
