Louise Ellis

Louise Norman Ellis, 93, of Jonesboro, Ga., formerly of Troy, passed into the arms of her Lord and Savior on June 26, 2022, at the Jonesboro Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Troy Cumberland Church with pastor Fred Gardner officiating. Burial will follow in Terrace Hill Cemetery near Troy. Visitation will be held at the church from 9 a.m. until the hour of services Saturday.
White-Ranson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Butch Young, Donnie Allen, Sonny Yarbrough, Tim Williams, Jeff Riley and Trevor Riley.
Louise was born Dec. 30, 1928, in Obion County, the daughter of the late Herbert F. (Hub) and Lennie (Yarbrough) Norman. She grew up in the Mason Hall community surrounded by many uncles, aunts and cousins.
She married Floyd R. Ellis on June 6, 1946. He preceded her in death on July 9, 1975.
Most of her life was spent in Troy, where she was a homemaker.
At the time of her death, she was the oldest member of Troy Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where she had served as secretary, treasurer and janitor for many years.
Due to failing health, she moved to Jonesboro to live with her daughter, Donna, and son-in-law, Cleo (Buddy) Craven, in 2017.
She was much loved by the members of the Jonesboro First United Methodist Church where she attended as long as her health permitted.
In addition to her husband and parents, Louise was also preceded in death by her sister, Lucille Mulling.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna (Buddy) Craven of Jonesboro; a niece, Harolyn Sullivan of Savannah, Ga.; nephew Butch Young of Perry, Fla.; great-niece, Pam (Ken) Stewart of Savannah; great-great-niece, Kaitlyn Stewart of Savannah; and great-great-niece Kasey (Jeffrey) Giddens and daughter, Emma Louise, of Savannah; and special friends, Ed and Helen Williams of Jonesboro and Jan Heath of Atlanta. In addition, there are several cousins and extended family in the West Tennessee area.
