Bobby Vanhoy

Bobby “Uncle Bobby” Gene Vanhoy, 89, of Hornbeak passed away 2:25 a.m. Thursday, June 30, 2022, at AHC Union City.
Funeral services were conducted 3 p.m. Saturday at Hornbeak Baptist Church. Brother Robert Johnson officiated. Burial followed in Antioch Cemetery near Hornbeak.
Pallbearers were Mitchell Johnson, Sam Accord, Ty Walley, Jerry Fluty, Jodie Baldridge, Tony Angel and Johnny Eaves.
Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family requested memorials be made to Hornbeak Baptist Church, 258 North Main St., Hornbeak, TN 38232.
Bobby was born Sept. 15, 1932, in Obion, son of the late Willie and Rosie (Garner) Vanhoy. He married Freida (Lovett) Vanhoy Feb. 2, 1953. She preceded him in death April 9, 2017. Bobby served in the United States Army and retired from the State of Tennessee. He was a faithful and dedicated member of Hornbeak Baptist Church and a member of Woodmen of the World.
He is survived by one son, Billy Gene Vanhoy of Springville; two nieces and their husbands, Debi and Joe Jerden of Hornbeak and Sherry and Craig Johnson of Luthersville, Ga.; one nephew and his wife, Dan and Juanita Stacks of Troy; and his deceased nephew Glen Stacks’ widow, Robin Stacks of Hickman, Ky.
He was also preceded in death by one brother, Billy Junior Vanhoy; and two sisters, Doris Stacks and Elizabeth Younger.
